<p>1. Windows 7 installation ISO or Windows 7 Installation media<br />
2. 4GIG + USB thumb drive / flash drive<br />
3. Formatted thumb drive / flash drive</p>
<p>In order to install Windows 7 from USB you will first need to prepare your USB thumb drive / flash drive.</p>
<p>1. Plug in your USB / Flash drive.</p>
<p>2. Open <em>gparted</em>, open your terminal window and type in<em> sudo gparted</em>, if you currently don&#8217;t have gparted installed, type <em>sudo apt-get install gparted </em></p>

<p>4. Make sure you have a freshly formatted USB / Thumb drive</p>
<p>5. <em>Right click</em> on your USB drive, you will need to select the drive from the drop down at the top right hand side of the window, select <em>manage flags</em>, then select <em>boot</em>.</p>
<p>6. Copy the contents of your Windows 7 installation either from your install media or ISO (The iso can be opened with Archive manager) to the USB Thumb Drive / Flash Drive.</p>
<p>7. Make sure you unmount your USB thumb drive / Flash Drive before physically removing it from your computer.</p>
<p>8. Put your USB Thumb Drive / Flash Drive in your Asus eeepc press the power button, then press F12 to bring up the boot menu, select your USB Thumb Drive / Flash Drive from the menu, this will start the Windows 7 Installation.</p>
